Two of the best blocks of forest in the South Lakes – with a wealth of contour and rock detail. The area is essentially two distinct blocks of mature natural woodland (Black Beck and Dockney Parrock), linked by an area of rough open to give added contrast to most competitors runs. There is some mature coniferous in Dockney Parrock.

Whilst Black Beck has been used before for training/short races, including the Cumbrian Short Series last year, Dockney has had one outing in the last 15 years (a small evening event). There is approximately 20% of the area which in new to orienteering. When entering, use the ‘note’ facility to indicate a preferred start time block (early, middle or late). Start times will be allocated, and added to the competitor listing by the entries secretary.
